Richard A. Dove

Of Counsel

Rick brings four decades of experience to the representation of judges and lawyers in professional responsibility matters.  He devoted the majority of his 42-year career in public service to attorney regulation, including bar admissions, overseeing registration and CLE enforcement, and the administration of professional discipline.  During his 14-year tenure as director of the Ohio Board of Professional Conduct, Rick instituted procedures to ensure the fair and timely consideration of disciplinary cases, fostered increased transparency in disciplinary matters, and established the first comprehensive, online disciplinary case docket in the United States. 

Rick is recognized as an expert in legal and judicial ethics, authoring articles in national publications and making more than 300 education presentations to bar and judicial organizations and law schools.  Throughout his career, Rick has counseled lawyers, judicial officers, and judicial candidates regarding compliance with professional ethics rules.  He has a reputation for sound, well-reasoned advice.
