New Jersey is poised to become the second state, after California, to enact a comprehensive plan to limit its greenhouse gas emissions.
he legislation requires the state to reduce global warming gases to 1990 levels by 2020, and to ensure that greenhouse gas emissions do not exceed 80 percent of 2006 levels by 2050.
Former Vice President Al Gore, who played a large part in influencing the law to pass, attended the signing of New Jersey’s “Global Warming Response Act” yesterday at the Meadowlands sports complex.
