Immigration Bill Will “Bring Millions Out of the Shadows”

The climate is just right in congress this spring, and a bill has passed that will take steps towards granting citizenship to millions of immigrants who are now living and working illegally in the United States.

Similar to a bill that was shot down a year ago in then-Republican-controlled congress, the agreement takes steps to rapidly grant legal working status to illegal immigrants while fortifying the border at the same time.

I have observed major rallies in both New York and San Francisco over the last year in favor of such legislation; and it is as impressive to me that both Democrats and Republicans can lay down their arms and agree for a moment on this issue as it is to witness the fabric of our nation’s laws shifting to accommodate the hearts of her people.
