Oh hell. 58,000 gallons of fuel were spilled in the San Francisco Bay last week, and over 40,000 of the spill remains unaccounted for. The crew of the tanker, which crashed into the SF-Oakland bridge, will almost certainly face Federal prosecution in the coming weeks and months. Strict liability laws pretty much demand that action, no matter how “accidental” the spill may have been.
