Is is a ploy? Am I mishearing? Or did the President, in a surprise visit to Iraq yesterday, comment that if security continues to improve in the country then troop withdrawals may begin sooner than expected? The President seemed impressed with the level of security he saw in the country, and commented that if that level is maintained then fewer American troops will be needed to maintain Iraq’s security.

Perhaps it’s wishful thinking, but it certainly is good to get a breath of hope for our troops, and our national identity.
